A little about me
Heya 👋 I'm Kyle Stewart a 24 year old product designer from beautiful Sydney, Australia.
I've worn many hats over my 7 year career, From Web Development, UX Design, Brand Development and Product Design. I started quite young, getting my first gig at the ripe age of 14 years old working along side a UTS professor and the Cerebral Palsy Alliance to provide software and hardware solutions for suffers of Cerebral Palsy.
Over the next 3 years I dedicated myself to using design and technology to make the lives of people suffering with Mental and physical disabilities easier. Working with Remarkable, a Disability start up accelerator and Lusio Rehab a start up that allowed people with Cerebral Palsy to rehab using video games.
The day after I finished Year 12, I started as a Design Technologist @ Digital Creators. A boutique design agency where I worked for 3 years working with over 50+ clients and launched 15+ products in multiple facets of the company.
Currently I'm a Product designer at News Corp Australia, working with such brands as: News.com.au, Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, Code Sports, Sky News, Escape, Vouge.
Design should be simple
I don’t have a background in design. This may sound alarming, but I consider a generalist approach an important asset.
I studied Management and Finance at UTS, Sydney, before working as an Ops Manager in high-growth startups. This involved learning fast and wearing a lot of hats. In mid-2019, I decided I wanted to pursue design.
Product design isn't as complicated or as difficult as everyone pretends it is. I believe good design should be simple and clear with a pragmatic focus on business growth.
